The club will run from Monday, January 24th, through Tuesday, March 15th, 2011.

Participants can earn fun prizes along the way, and everyone will be invited to a party. Although the club is mainly for those in grades 6 - 12, kids in grade 5 may sign-up also if they are interested.

Throughout the winter, teens and "tweens" will be able to visit this blog to see updates about the Teen Winter Reading Club, find out what cool programs are happening just for them, read other teens' "online" reviews of books, music CDs, and movies, play games, complete "special" challenges, and even post their comments and suggestions.

Sign-up began on Monday, January 10th, 2011.

LIBRARY CALENDAR OF EVENTS

NEW! NEW! NEW!

Now everyone can view all the library's wonderful programs using our special "Events Calendar." For many of the programs, patrons can even register online and receive reminder notices. Just click on the link below, to see what events are coming up on a monthly basis.

By setting the calendar to "List View" you can even limit your searching to the types of programs that are age/grade appropriate, or are of the most interest to you.

Once you find the programs that you're really interested in coming to, then you can register for them and will even receive an e-mail reminder. If programs don't require you to register, then you can use the "Remind Me" function so you're guaranteed not to forget about the event.

If you have any questions or are having trouble trying to register for programs, please feel free to contact Denise J., the Teen Librarian and she will assist you in any way.

"World Read Aloud Day" motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words, especially those words that are shared from one person to another, and creates a community of readers advocating for every child’s right to a safe education and access to books and technology. By raising our voices together on this day we show the world’s children that we support their future: that they have the right to read, to write, and to share their words to change the world. Teens and "tweens" in grades 5 - 12 are invited to take part in this inspiring pledge to read 774 million minutes in support of the 774 million people around the world who cannot read or write. Readers can read to teens, younger siblings, and even adults, and the overall totals of the event will be submitted to LitWorld by the Teen Librarian.
